Outsourcing and Team ExtensionExpert support for a defined piece of work, scope and timeline agreed up front.
In short
Software outsourcing and team extension lets you bring the software, DevOps, data or QA specialists you need into your project for as long as you need them, without hiring them onto your payroll. At CoreTechs we work with three models: project-based expert support for a specific piece of work, a dedicated team focused solely on your product, and staff augmentation, where developers join your existing team and follow your processes. The service is defined by an SLA and tracked transparently through monthly activity reports.
Scope
Models
- Project-based specialist support
- Dedicated team
- Developers who join your team (staff augmentation)
Example roles
- Backend and frontend developers
- Mobile developers
- DevOps engineers
- Data engineers
- Test specialists
- Project managers
- System and database administrators
Assurance
- Service defined by SLA
- Monthly activity report
- Quick replacement of team members when needed
Who is it for?
- Product teams whose roadmap is growing faster than hiring can keep up, slowing delivery
- Companies that need a specific skill for a period of time, such as DevOps, data engineering or test automation
- Businesses without their own software team that want to develop a product over the long term
- Organizations weighing developer outsourcing or hiring a dedicated development team as an alternative to permanent hires
- Teams that need to quickly fill the knowledge and capacity gap left by a departing employee
- Companies that would rather source operational roles such as system and database administration as a service
How we work
Needs analysis
Together we clarify which roles you need, at what seniority, for how long and with what working arrangement. At this stage we also learn your tech stack, team structure and tools.
Model and team proposal
We recommend the engagement model and team structure that fit your needs. We share profiles of specialists who match the roles and, if you wish, arrange technical interviews for your evaluation.
Contract and confidentiality
A non-disclosure agreement (NDA) is signed before work begins. Scope, working hours, communication channels, reporting, replacement terms and intellectual property clauses are defined in writing in the SLA.
Onboarding
Specialists get access to your code repository, project management tool and communication channels, and adapt to your team's workflow and coding standards. Regular check-ins during the first weeks confirm expectations are being met.
Ongoing management and reporting
Each month we deliver an activity report covering work completed, effort spent and key topics. If performance or fit issues arise, we plan a replacement quickly and manage the handover without knowledge loss. As your needs change, you can scale the team up or down.
How long does it take?
How quickly a team can start depends on the number and seniority of the roles, how specialized your tech stack is, your own candidate review process and how fast access can be set up. In a free 30-minute initial call we listen to your needs, then share suitable profiles and a start plan. The engagement length is set by your needs; the dedicated team model runs on a fixed monthly fee, while the time and materials model is billed by effort spent.
Phases
- Defining needsRoles, skills, duration, working arrangement and engagement model are agreed.
- Profiles and evaluationProfiles of suitable specialists are shared and optional technical interviews are held.
- Contract and accessNDA and SLA are signed, and repository and tool access is prepared.
- Onboarding periodThe team adapts to your processes and coding standards and delivers its first work.
- Ongoing engagementMonthly reporting, regular reviews and team scaling as needed.
What drives the cost?
The cost of software outsourcing depends on role, seniority and engagement model. We share a budget range in the initial call and a firm quote once needs are clear. Recruitment, benefits and equipment costs are included in the service fee, so no employment overhead falls on you.
| Factor | Effect on cost |
|---|---|
| Role and seniority | Senior engineers, architects and roles requiring specialized expertise are priced higher. |
| Team size | Headcount sets the total fee; teams with multiple roles may also include project management. |
| Engagement model | A dedicated team is priced as a fixed monthly fee, time and materials by effort spent, and project-based support by scope of work. |
| Commitment length | Longer engagements make team planning easier, which can be reflected in pricing. |
| How specialized the tech stack is | Specialists in mainstream technologies are easier to find; niche or legacy technologies require rarer skills. |
| Working hours and availability | After-hours work, on-call duty or alignment with a different time zone requires additional capacity planning. |

Example solution scenario
Scaling a product team quickly
Representative scenario, not a real client project.
- Profile
- A technology company building a SaaS product with its own development team, committed to shipping a mobile app and new integrations in a short timeframe.
- Need
- The roadmap had outgrown the team's capacity. Hiring a mobile developer and a DevOps engineer was taking too long, and existing developers were spending so much time on infrastructure that product work suffered.
- Approach
- A needs analysis identified the missing roles and required skills: mobile developers, a DevOps engineer and a QA specialist.
- A dedicated team model was chosen for mobile development, and staff augmentation for DevOps and QA.
- Specialists joined the company's code repository, project management tool and daily stand-ups.
- The DevOps engineer automated the release pipeline, taking infrastructure work off the existing developers.
- Monthly activity reports and regular reviews were used to scale the team as needed.
- Technologies
- React Native
- Node.js
- GitHub Actions
- Docker
- Playwright
- Jira
- Outcome
- The company started on its roadmap without waiting for permanent hires. Existing developers refocused on the product, the mobile app progressed in planned sprints and all code and documentation stayed in the company's own repository.
Frequently asked questions
How soon can the team start?
Start time depends on the number and seniority of the roles and how specialized your tech stack is. Once your needs are clear after the initial call, we share suitable profiles and a realistic start date in writing.
What is the difference between a dedicated team and staff augmentation?
A dedicated team works only on your project, with internal coordination handled by us. In staff augmentation, the specialist joins your team directly and works to your manager's priorities. Project-based expert support is a time-bound contribution for a specific piece of work.
How does the contract work?
The dedicated team model has a fixed monthly fee, while time and materials is billed by effort spent. Scope, working arrangements, reporting, replacement terms and intellectual property clauses are defined in writing in the SLA. Team size can be adjusted as your needs change.
Who owns the intellectual property of the code?
You do. Specialists work in your code repository, and once payments are made, the source code and all intellectual property rights are transferred to you. This is stated explicitly in the contract.
What if a specialist is not the right fit?
If there is a performance or fit issue, we plan a replacement quickly. We manage the documentation of ongoing work and the handover to the new specialist, so your workflow is not disrupted.
Can we interview specialists before they join?
Yes. We share profiles of specialists who match the role and, if you wish, you can hold technical interviews. The final approval is yours.
Does the team work from your office or ours?
The default is remote work; the team joins your daily workflow through your communication channels and project management tool. If on-site work is needed for certain periods, we define it in the contract.
How are confidentiality and data security ensured?
A non-disclosure agreement (NDA) is signed before work begins. Access is granted through individual accounts with only the privileges required, and revoked at the end of the engagement. Systems containing personal data are handled in line with KVKK and GDPR data processing rules.
