Mobile Apps: Mobile apps your users will want to open every day.

We build user-centered, high-performance and secure mobile apps for iOS and Android. Depending on your project, we choose native development or cross-platform technologies with a single codebase (Flutter, React Native).

Mobile Apps

In short

Mobile app development is the design, build and release of iOS and Android apps that serve your customers or field teams, followed by publishing on the App Store and Google Play and keeping them current with regular updates. CoreTechs chooses native development or a single cross-platform codebase with Flutter or React Native depending on what the project needs, and builds the app, its admin panel and back-end services together. One team takes your app from idea to store release.

Scope

Scope

  • Customer apps
  • Mobile commerce (m-commerce) apps
  • Enterprise apps for field teams
  • Loyalty and booking apps
  • Apps that communicate with IoT devices
  • Smartwatch apps

Capabilities

  • Offline mode
  • Push notifications
  • In-app payments
  • Location services
  • Biometric login
  • Analytics and crash reporting

Deliverables

  • App published on the App Store and Google Play
  • Admin panel
  • Transfer of store accounts to you
  • Release update support

Who is it for?

  • Companies that want a branded app for customer orders, bookings, loyalty or account tracking.
  • Businesses moving field team forms, photos, signatures and work orders off paper and messaging apps.
  • Start-ups that want to test an idea with users by starting from a first release (MVP) that runs the core flow.
  • Teams whose current app has become slow, crashes often or no longer keeps up with new OS versions, and needs a rebuild.
  • Manufacturers and service companies that need an app talking to devices over Bluetooth or the internet (IoT).

How we work

  1. Free introductory call

In 30 minutes we discuss who the app is for and the business result it should deliver, and share feasibility, an indicative timeline and a budget range.

  2. Discovery and platform decision

We document the screen inventory, user flows and back-end and integration needs, and recommend native iOS and Android or a single Flutter or React Native codebase, with our reasoning.

  3. Design and on-device prototype

We design the interface with iOS and Android conventions in mind and get your sign-off with a clickable prototype you can try on your phone.

  4. Development in two-week sprints

We build the app, admin panel and services in two-week sprints and share a working build you can install on test devices at the end of each one.

  5. Testing and store preparation

We test across devices and OS versions and prepare the App Store and Google Play submission with screenshots, descriptions and privacy declarations.

  6. Release and version support

We publish the app and hand the store accounts over to you. After release we monitor crash and usage data and keep the app compatible with OS updates.

How long does it take?

How long a mobile app takes depends on the number of screens, the technology chosen for iOS and Android, special capabilities such as offline mode or payments, back-end and integration needs, and the app store review process. So we do not give a duration before the scope is clear. You get an indicative timeline in the introductory call and a phased schedule after discovery. Discovery usually starts within a week, and if speed matters you can start with an MVP that runs the core flow.

Phases

  1. Introductory call30 minutes, free. Goals, users, budget range and an indicative timeline are discussed.
  2. DiscoveryScreen inventory, platform decision, back-end architecture and a fixed quote.
  3. Design and prototypeA prototype you can try on a phone; the number of review rounds affects the schedule.
  4. DevelopmentTwo-week sprints, each ending with a build you can install on test devices.
  5. Testing and store releaseDevice testing, store submission and review; review time depends on the stores' own process.

What drives the cost?

The cost of building a mobile app depends less on the number of screens and more on what the app has to do and the systems behind it. We share a budget range that fits your needs in the introductory call and a fixed quote after discovery. These items affect cost the most.

Factors that determine the cost
FactorEffect on cost
Platform and technologyBuilding iOS and Android together from one codebase (Flutter, React Native) reduces effort in most projects; two separate native apps need more development.
Screens and flowsEach unique screen and user flow adds design, development and testing effort.
Back end and admin panelWhether services such as user accounts, content and order management are built from scratch or reuse an existing system changes the cost noticeably.
Special capabilitiesOffline mode, in-app payments, location, biometric sign-in and device communication each need extra development and testing.
IntegrationsThe number of ERP, CRM, payment and notification connections and the quality of their documentation affect effort.
Design originalityCustom animations and bespoke components take more effort than a design built on the platforms' standard components.
Post-release version supportKeeping up with OS updates, monitoring and new features adds to the total cost of ownership.

Example solution scenario

An offline-capable app for field service teams

Representative scenario, not a real client project.

Profile
A mid-sized technical service company providing installation and maintenance across several cities.
Need
Technicians received work orders by phone, filled in service forms on paper and sent photos through a messaging app. Forms reached the office days later, invoicing was delayed and customers could not be shown clearly which work had been completed.
Approach
  • Discovery defined the work order, service form, materials used and customer sign-off flows screen by screen.
  • Because the team used both iOS and Android devices, the app was built with Flutter on a single codebase.
  • The app was designed to work offline for sites without coverage; forms, photos and signatures are sent automatically once a connection is back.
  • An admin panel was built for the office team to assign and track work orders, and completed jobs are passed to the accounting system.
Technologies
  • Flutter
  • Node.js
  • PostgreSQL
  • Push notifications
  • Crash reporting
Outcome
Service forms move off paper and reach the office as soon as a job is done. The office team sees field work status in real time, invoicing starts without waiting, and customers can receive a signed service record.

Frequently asked questions

How much does it cost to build a mobile app?

It depends on the platform choice, the number of screens, back-end needs and special capabilities such as offline mode or payments. We share a budget range in the introductory call and a fixed quote after discovery.

Flutter, React Native or native: which should we choose?

For most business apps that need the same experience on iOS and Android quickly, a single Flutter or React Native codebase is efficient. If the app needs heavy hardware access or advanced platform-specific features, we recommend native development with Swift and Kotlin. We share the decision and our reasoning in discovery.

How long until the app is live in the stores?

It depends on the scope and the store review process. After discovery we provide a phased schedule, and during development we share a build you can install on test devices every two weeks.

Whose name are the App Store and Google Play accounts in?

We recommend publishing under developer accounts owned by your company; if we opened the accounts, they are transferred to you after release. Once the project fee is paid in full, the source code and intellectual property rights are yours as well.

Can the app work with our existing systems?

Yes. We connect the app to your ERP, CRM, payment and identity systems through APIs or middleware. If the required services do not exist yet, we build the back end too.

Can the app work without an internet connection?

Yes. For field teams or places with weak coverage, we can design the app to work offline. Data is stored securely on the device and syncs with the server automatically once a connection is back. Offline mode needs extra development, so we define the need in discovery.

Who handles updates after release?

During the warranty period, defects are fixed free of charge. After that we offer SLA-based maintenance and support plans for OS compatibility, monitoring and new features.

Can we start with a smaller first version?

Yes. Starting with an MVP that runs the core user flow and growing it based on user feedback is the soundest way to reduce risk. We also offer a dedicated MVP starter package.
